The Hellenic Psychogeriatric Association is consisted of a seven-member Board of Management, elected every 3 years. The current Board of Management was formed following the elections on the 22nd September 2016:

Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the 1st Department of Psychiatry, “Eginition” Hospital of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Director of the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry (DGP) and part-time faculty member of the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry, at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Baltimore, USA. Dr Politis is the President of the International College of Geriatric Psychoneuropharmacology and a member of several professional and scientific organizations. He has published numerous scientific articles in national and international scientific journals as well as book chapters.

Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the 2nd Department of Psychiatry, “Attikon” University General Hospital of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and Director of the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry and of the Division of Psychotherapy and of the Family and Couple Clinic. Dr Gournellis has published more than 70 articles in international and national scientific journals as well as book chapters. Main fields of research interest are: Psychogeriatrics, psychopathology, systemic family psychotherapy and psychopharmacology.

General Practitioner, Doctor of Biochemistry of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Dr Stamouli is an external scientific associate at the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry at the 1st Department of Psychiatry, “Eginition” Hospital of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, since 2003, addressing physical health issues of psychogeriatric patients. She has organized and completed the three-year (2013-2016) service of geriatric assessment and monitoring of the elderly at the Open Care Center for the Elderly of Piraeus. She is a member of the Greek Union of General Practitioners and has participated in seminars and conferences on the field of Geriatrics. She has published articles in national and international journals as well as book chapters.

Social Worker at the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry at the 1st Department of Psychiatry, “Eginition” Hospital of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since 2001 she is collaborating with the Outpatient Clinic of Psychogeriatrics and she has specialized in non-pharmaceutical interventions and in the evaluation of neuropsychiatric symptoms in dementia. Mrs Passa has been trained in Psychotherapy in elderly patients with depression by the Weill-Cornell Institute, Department of Geriatric Psychiatry, Weill-Cornell Medical College, as well as in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and received a Master Degree in “Mental Health Promotion-Prevention of Psychiatric Disorders” at the Medical School of University of Athens. She has published scientific articles in national and international journals as well as book chapters.

Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the 1st Department of Psychiatry, General Hospital “Papageorgiou”, of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her educational, clinical and research work focuses on the discipline of Psychogeriatrics. Dr Konsta is the Director of the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry consisting of an inpatient and an outpatient clinic. She has published scientific articles in national and international journals as well as book chapters. She lectures at numerous conferences, seminars and training programs. She is responsible for the Resident’s clinical training in Psychogeriatrics and she is also responsible for lecturing the selected course of “Psychogeriatrics”, part of the undergraduate curriculum of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Psychologist, Doctor of Psychiatry of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with postdoctoral studies in the psychopathology of the elderly at the Division of Neuropsychiatry and of Medical Psychology, at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Baltimore, USA, specializing in dementia and memory impairments. Dr Voulgari is the Director of the Rehabilitation Units of the Hellenic Center for Mental Health and Research, where she is working for the past 25 years. She has published more than 70 scientific papers (communications and publications) in national and international conferences and scientific journals. She has lectured in numerous seminars, postgraduate university programs, hospitals, scientific societies, municipalities etc. and has participated in European projects focusing on the elderly.

Theofanis Vorvolakos

Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Democritus University of Thrace. His clinical work is carried out at the University Department of Psychiatry and at the Sector of Social Psychiatry of the Department of Psychiatry at the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis. Dr Vorvolakos is responsible for the operation of the Psychogeriatric Clinic of the Hospital for the past 7 years. He is a lecturer at the undergraduate level in two departments of the University of Thrace and participates as a lecturer in five graduate courses at the Democritus University of Thrace and at the Technological Educational Institute of Larissa. He was trained in Psychogeriatrics at the Hilligndon Hospitals, St. Pancras Hospital and Queen’s Hospital in London. His research work includes supervising theses and dissertations. He has numerous free communications, posters and has published numerous scientific articles in national and international scientific journals.
